Landscaping

Here at Saltuarius we love getting creative. If you are looking at re-working your current garden or starting fresh why not see what we can offer to create a pleasent living space.

Our specialties are rainforest gardens, sloping and un-even blocks and pond constructions but that's just a selection of what we can offer. With our love and knowlege of local wildlife we can create something that is not only visually pleasing and practical but also provides the right structure and diversity to cater for our furry, feathered and scaley friends.

You can provide your own plants or have us supply our own stock. We also have access to plants from other local growers and can order in from various wholesalers which allows us to offer a very extensive range including a plethora of species that simply can not be found at traditional retail nurseries.

If you are looking at restoring bushland on your property we can also help with supply of bulk tubestock and project design as well as offer advice on appropriate species and structure to best meet the needs of wildlife.

Weed Management and Landcare Services

Our weed control and land management services range from small garden tidy ups to larger re-vegetation projects. We've been working closely with Ipswich locals to gain real long term improvments and reduced maintanence on their properties.

Over the last 8 years we've managed weeds along urban floodways, provided managment plans and guidence for revegetaion and erosion mitigation, hand cut and managed fire breaks as part of bushfire mitigation plans, propagated and sourced native plants for clients, assisted with private tree plantings on denuded slops, provided landscape managment/landcare for commercial properties, created urban wildlife corridors and established constructed wetlands and manageged urban natural stormwater systems.

We are happy to take on the whole job ourselves or work with the property owners to reduce costs and welcome any questions to help people make the right choices.

Lizard Pits, Turtle Ponds, Terrariums and Custom Aviaries

There are many benefits to keeping birds and reptiles in outdoor enclosures. Although some animals may be better off well sheltered in doors in many cases outdoors is best! For birds this can allow for more room to spread their wings and enable a degree of free flight not offered in smaller indoor cages as well as the stimulation of the world around them.

For reptiles the biggest benefit is SUN. Artificial UV lighting is actually very ineffective, with almost no UV radiation reaching past 30cm for a standard fluorescent bulb. These bulbs also only have a reasonable output for about six months and need to be replaced even if they are emitting light.

Add this to the fact that a whole week under a UV bulb is equivalent to only about 15-30 minutes of direct sunlight and you can understand why outdoors is better.

We are able to design and/or construct enclosures that keep your pets in and predators like Kookaburras and rats OUT and can suggest or supply live plants appropriate in terms of size, shelter and supplementary food source for your pet. We can also fit out and landscape enclosures to create something not only structurally sound but also visually engaging and most importantly replicate the settings of your animal's natural environment.
